What is EFT?EFT is an Energy therapy.
It is an amazingly simple and powerful tool for working with negative emotions, beliefs thoughts and cravings.
EFT Has its roots in Eastern medicine, it works with the energy system, with points used in acupressure and acupuncture. It has been described as acupressure for psychological issues although in Eastern medicine there is no idea of division between the body and the mind
EFT is a simplified version of a more complicated energy therapy, known as thought field technology or the Callahan method. Developed by Dr Callahan, a psychiatrist who while becoming trained as an acupuncturist began experimenting with tapping on various meridians with his psychiatry patients. The story goes that the first patient he tried this with had a phobia of water. He had worked with her for months and months conventionally - exploring the roots of the phobia and had got nowhere. so he tried an experiment asking 'Mary' to think of the phobia and tap various points. It worked! After that Callahan
went on to discover that by tapping various combinations of points on the body he could release various types of life-long phobias, lessen anxiety and lift depression.
In the early 1990s an engineer called Gary Craig took Callahan's intensive training and looked at it with his engineering mind. He quickly saw a way that the method could be simplified. Instead of tapping complex sequences for different negative emotions Craig tried tapping just one basic sequence that involves nearly every meridian.
It has proved to be just as effective as the more complex method and far easier to teach and learn. Craig called it EFT and has devoted his life to sharing the technique with people all over the world
What can you expect?
The EFT method involves tapping on various points on the energy meridians while allowing yourself to feel a negative feeling or craving or pain.
when you tap the negative feeling can lift and in many cases it goes away forever.
Mandy uses EFT in combination with hypno-psychotherapy and NLP in her one to one sessions. The beauty of EFT is that once you learn the sequence you have learned a powerful self-help tool to take away and use on everything!
